In short: One add-on per brand switches on email, Slack and WhatsApp, with one shared message bundle.
Maia in the app is free on every plan, including Free. What costs money is Maia going out to where your team and your clients already are, and that is what this add-on buys.
It is one purchase per brand rather than one per channel. Buying it for email does not leave Slack and WhatsApp still locked, and there is no way to buy only one of them.
Where to find it
Settings, then the Maia settings tab. If you have the add-on, a card sits at the top showing the renewal date, the messages you have used and your next payment. If you do not, the same place offers it instead, and the channel sections below stay switched off until you buy.
What it turns on
Email, Slack and WhatsApp. Maia's chat inside Protaigé is not part of this and never has been, so a brand that never buys the add-on still has her in the app.
One bundle, shared
The allowance covers all three channels together rather than giving each its own. Sent and received both count, so a five-message email thread is five messages, not one. A single send to several recipients is still one message. Past the bundle the messages keep flowing at a per-message rate rather than stopping, and the card shows both the count and the rate.
What the price depends on
Your base plan, not the number of channels you connect. Higher plans pay more for the add-on and get a bigger bundle. The purchase dialog shows the figure for your plan before you confirm, which is the number to trust rather than anything written down elsewhere.
The two capabilities that also need a plan
Voice needs the add-on and Campaign Pro or above. Meetings need the add-on and Enterprise. Neither the add-on nor the plan is enough on its own, and both are metered separately from messages, in minutes rather than in messages.
Cancelling
Cancel add-on on the same card. The channels keep working to the end of the period you have paid for, then switch off. Your numbers, addresses and Slack connection are not deleted, so buying it again brings them back rather than making you set them up from scratch.
If you are on Free or Campaign Lite, this is worth knowing about, because it is the one thing on those plans that does not require moving up a tier first. Any plan can buy it.
