In short: AI in the dock, Generate Music. Describe the track or point it at the video.
Sound effects punctuate. Music sets the mood for the whole piece, and until now it was the one thing you had to bring from somewhere else.
Use it in the video editor, because music belongs on a timeline. The design editors list the same tile under AI, but it does not open a panel there.
Prompt or Video
Two ways in, set by the toggle at the top. Prompt writes the track from your description. Video takes a clip you already have and scores it, so the music follows what is on screen rather than running underneath it.
Describe the sound, or describe the idea
Two boxes, and they do different jobs. Describe your music is about the sound itself, the instruments and the feel. Or describe the idea is about what the song is about, which is what the lyrics get written from. Fill in either, or both.
Pick a style, or leave it open
Style defaults to Any style. Choosing one narrows the model to a particular sound rather than letting the prompt decide everything, which is worth doing once you know what you want and worth skipping while you are still exploring.
Brand voice, and writing the lyrics yourself
Brand voice is on by default, so anything sung comes out in the register your brand already uses rather than in a generic one. Write it hands you the lyrics to edit directly. Setting Lyrics to Instrumental skips them entirely, which is usually what a bed under a voiceover wants.
Kind and Duration
Kind chooses between a Track, a Loop and Ambience, and Loop is the one worth knowing about here, because a short loopable piece tiles under a timeline of any length. Duration runs from thirty seconds to six minutes, with a Custom option, and Auto lets the length follow the prompt.
Generate
What comes back lands in your audio library like any other track and drops onto the timeline from there. Volume is per element, so balancing it against a voiceover happens on the timeline rather than here.
For anything longer than a social cut, the Lyrics option marked Custom opens a section editor, where you set out the song a part at a time with its own length and words. That is the route to a structured piece rather than a single continuous idea.
