In short: Captions is a tool in the left-hand dock. Write them by hand or import an .srt.
Most video in a feed plays silently. Captions are not an accessibility afterthought, they are how the majority of viewers will actually receive the message.
They are also what makes a voiceover work for people who never hear it.
Open Captions in the dock
The tools run down the left edge of the editor. Captions sits between Text and Shapes.
Write them, or bring them in
Create Manually gives you caption blocks to type into and time yourself. Import File takes an .srt or a .vtt, which is what you already have if the script was written elsewhere or a transcription service produced one.
Check the timing against the audio
If you have a voiceover, watch it through once with sound off. That is the real test.
Captions are burned into the exported video rather than being a separate track, so they travel wherever the file goes.
