Where to find your Sparks balance, what's drawing them down, and what's free so nothing surprises you.
TL;DR: Watch your Sparks balance in Settings > Sparks. AI generation draws from a single pool, but chatting with Maia and searching stock libraries are always free.
Protaigé uses Sparks to measure the creative work the AI does for you. Drafting copy, generating images, building tactics: every AI action draws from a single transparent pool, and you can see what you've used and what's left at any time.
What draws Sparks down
Your Sparks fund the AI work that happens for you. The main categories:
- Content generation - briefs, headlines, body copy, CTAs, image generation and editing.
- Tactics and campaigns - building tactics, generating Responsive Search Ads (the biggest single draw), exporting banners.
- Publishing - scheduling social posts, sending emails.
- Bigger pieces - Brand Butler service, Gamma presentations.
The exact cost per action is listed on the Sparks page, so you can always see what something will use before you run it.
What's free?
Building and refining your foundations doesn't cost Sparks. Updates to your Brand Story, Voice, Personas or Products are free, and so are these two:
- Chatting with Maia, your AI account director. Conversations cost nothing, so ask her anything.
- Searching stock libraries. Browsing for the right image doesn't draw Sparks.
Your monthly allowance
Each plan comes with a Sparks allowance that refreshes each month.
Plan | Monthly Sparks | Rollover |
Campaign Free | 100 | No |
Campaign Plus | 2,000 | Yes - unused Sparks carry forward |
Campaign Pro | 10,000 | No |
If you run low mid-month, you can top up with a Spark Pack at any time.
Keeping an eye on it
Open Settings > Sparks to see your current balance, a breakdown of what's been spent where, and a running log of every action that drew Sparks. The balance shifts colour as you approach your limit, and Protaigé will nudge you when you're close to running out, so you're never surprised mid-campaign.
If you hit your cap, upgrading your plan or topping up with a Spark Pack takes a moment and you're back at it.
