Plenty of what you do costs nothing, so it is worth knowing the difference rather than rationing yourself unnecessarily.

Check the balance
It is in the header wherever you are, so you do not have to go looking.

See what drew it down
Usage shows where the Sparks went, which is usually more informative than people expect.

Top up or upgrade
If you are consistently short, the plan is the answer. If it is occasional, top up instead.
Running out stops generation, not access. Your work and your brand material stay exactly where they are.
