Sometimes you don't need a full campaign. Maybe you just need a set of social banners for an event next week, or a batch of resized ads for a new promotion. That's exactly what Quickies are for.

Quickies let you skip the strategy and briefing steps entirely and go straight to making visuals. You pick a design kit template, customise it in the Creative Editor, and walk away with a complete set of banners across every size you need. No brief, no concept generation, no multi-step campaign workflow. Just design and go.

Getting to Quickies

You'll find Quickies in the left sidebar - it's the lightning bolt icon. Click it and you'll land on your Quickies list page, which shows every quick set you've created. If you're just getting started, you'll see an empty state inviting you to create your first one.

The toolbar at the top gives you a search bar (type a name and hit Enter), a Filters button for narrowing things down by channel or design type, and a Sort dropdown so you can order by newest, oldest, or alphabetically.

Create a quick set

Hit the New Quickie button in the top-right corner. A three-step wizard walks you through setup:

Step 1 - Name it. Give your quick set a name that makes sense to you. Something like "Spring Sale Banners" or "Webinar Promo Pack" works well. This is purely for your own organisation.

Step 2 - Pick a template. Browse your available design kit templates. These are the same templates your brand has set up in the Design Kits section of Brand DNA, so everything is already on-brand. Scroll through the grid and click the one you want to work with.

Step 3 - Choose your sizes. You have two options here:

  • Full Kit generates every size variant in the template (Instagram Post, Facebook Ad, LinkedIn Banner, the lot)
  • Individual Asset lets you cherry-pick specific sizes if you only need, say, an Instagram Story and a Facebook Post

Once you've made your selections, the Creative Editor opens automatically with your chosen template loaded and ready to go.

The Creative Editor

image

This is where the real work happens. The Creative Editor is a full design environment built right into Protaigé. It's the same editor you'd use inside a campaign, so if you've worked with campaign visuals before, you'll feel right at home.

On the left side, you'll find your asset dock with everything you need:

  • Local Media - Upload your own images directly into the editor
  • Brand Images - Pull from your brand's photo library (anything you've added in Brand DNA)
  • Graphics - Illustrations, textures, and decorative elements
  • Logos - Every logo variant your brand has uploaded
  • Shapes - Basic geometric elements for layout work
  • Text - Add and style text blocks
  • AI Images - Generate new images using AI, right inside the editor

The canvas in the centre is where you arrange everything. Drag assets in, resize them, adjust colours, swap text - it's all visual and all real-time.

Save vs Generate Kit

Once you're happy with your design, you have two paths:

Save Banner does exactly what it says - it saves the banner you're currently editing. Use this when you're tweaking a single size and just want to preserve your changes.

Generate Kit is the powerful one. This takes whatever changes you've made to the parent banner (the main template size) and automatically propagates those changes across every other size variant in your set. Changed the headline? Updated the background image? Swapped a colour? Generate Kit pushes all of that through to your Instagram Post, your Facebook Ad, your LinkedIn Banner - every format, in one click. You'll see a progress indicator as each variant is processed.

The editor also auto-saves every 60 seconds, so you won't lose work if you accidentally close the tab.

Working with your banners

Back on the quickie detail page, you'll see all your generated banners in a masonry gallery layout. Hover over any banner and two options appear:

  • Edit (pencil icon) - Opens that specific banner back in the Creative Editor so you can fine-tune it individually
  • Delete (bin icon) - Removes that banner from the set, with a confirmation step so you don't accidentally bin something you need

When the whole set is looking good, hit Download All at the top to grab everything in one go. Protaigé zips them up for you automatically.

AI tools inside the editor

The Creative Editor comes with a few AI-powered tools that can speed things up:

  • AI text generation - Need copy for a headline or tagline? Generate options without leaving the canvas
  • AI image generation - Create custom imagery on the fly
  • Background removal - Strip the background from any photo with one click

These are available directly in the editor's AI Apps panel, so you don't need to switch context or leave your design to use them.

When to use Quickies vs Campaigns

The question is simple: do you need strategy, or just visuals?

If you're building a full marketing campaign with a concept, hero copy, tactics across channels, and a coherent narrative - use Campaigns. That's the full-service workflow with AI-generated strategy and creative.

If you already know what you want and you just need to produce the assets quickly - that's Quickies. Event banners, seasonal refreshes, one-off promotions, social content batches. Anything where the thinking is already done and you just need to get visuals out the door.

Tip: Your design kit templates are the foundation of Quickies. The better your templates are set up in Brand DNA, the faster and more consistent your Quickies output will be. If you haven't uploaded design kits yet, head to Art & Design in the Lobby to get started.
